This is pretty and certainly attractive in its fashion but the balance isn't quite perfect

this mammoth-sized Sauternes should prove to be one of the monumental efforts of the vintage
particularly given that a '76 Giroud Suchots tasted side by side (see herein) was substantially better
This is very definitely and 'buy and forget it somewhere deep in the cellar' wine
the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster
but with velvety tannin and stunning purple and black fruits
refined and lacy medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced and beautifully persistent if slightly warm finale
you have to admire the concentration and subtle balance in this honeyed dessert wine
