19th century Tiger maple wine table

19th century Tiger maple wine tableThis is a particularly attractive wine table. English c. 1800 in gorgeous original condition with one small nick out of the edge. The piece is made from an unusual timber which I believe is Tiger maple. It has a lovely satin type finish to the type and a strong flame running through the legs and the base. The top is a single piece of timber which gives it a lovely tactile finish. Overall a very elegant addition to a room. Height 78cm Width 40cm Depth

The metal has been painted with a faux bronze effect and the square feet are gilt metal

French in origin and made from kingwood with rosewood inlay

The whole design is effortlessly elegant with minimal details and capped with casters on each leg

Beautiful in its simplicity

The pale timber frame is original and the only minor issue is a watermark to the original mount but it doesn't take anything away from the piece

The reverse has false drawers so it can sit in the centre of a room as well

The texture on the the pot as well is what I fell in love with

The iron drawers pulls are all original as well
