Davido Pulls Out Of 50 Cent’s UK Concert With Mary J. Blige
Nigerian singer, Davido was scheduled to perform on July 3 at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium but as decided to pull out of 50 Cent’s UK concert. The concert was part of 50 Cent‘s Legacy tour which also featured American singer Mary J. Blige.
In a post on Instagram, Davido cited “major misalignments” with event organizers regarding production logistics and the quality elements needed for his performance. He emphasized that “it was not about ticket sales, but about maintaining integrity for his craft and respecting his fans and African culture.”
In his statement highlight, he said;
“Despite strong fan support and impressive ticket sales…”
“This decision is a matter of principle and respect for my craft and the culture I represent..”
Davido also affirmed that his summer tour continues elsewhere and sent home the message saying: “Africa must be respected.”
For the fans though, some have praised Davido for standing firm on professional standards and creative respect while others have questioned about hidden issues.
Davido’s cancellation reflects deeper concerns than one isolated event, but a response shaped by previous logistical and contractual issues as he faced a similar situation during his 2022 Italy show.
By choosing not to perform, Davido is protecting his brand, artistry, and respect for fans and the broader culture. It’s not a single show fall out, but a strategic chance rooted in experience.
The concert will continue as planned but without Davido.
He has confirmed other upcoming tour dates across Europe and North America remain on track.
