Framed A5 Gyotaku of a Fern LeafI've always loved ferns, I think they are probably my favourite plants with all the varieties there are. This frond was one of many growing in my garden just next to my studio. On a day where I don't have any fish to print, I love to print botanical specimens and it's May here now and all the fronds are so fresh and vibrant. After completeing her brothers portrait the year before I was asked to do this one of his little sister

The print is approx 21cmx21cm and framed measures approx 36cmx36cm

So the second stage is to make the print nice and flat so it will sit well in a frame

I'd always recommend that rolled work is laid flat as soon as it arrives so that it is easier to frame

It's a tricky process especially with such a delicate oily fish

The print is approx 15x21cm and has been wet mounted as with all my work

The print is unique no two prints are ever the same

As it's A5 in size

This process not only ensures archival quality but also enhances the clarity and presentation of the work
