Triple print of Menai Strait PrawnI picked up this prawn from my friend Andy in December, he was clearing down his bait tanks on the Menai and had pulled out half a dozen prawns and a pollock. He gifted me this little guy and he went in the freezer until I had some time after Christmas to get in the studio and print. The ink is both light fast and permanent

The same fish has been printed here twice  and both of the fish have been printed across two separate sheets of paper to make the diptych

Also they are symbolic of creativity too with their connection to writing

Printing requires pushing the paper into the grooves and it's difficult to achieve a great print

The print is on Chinese Xuan paper and reinforced and flattened using a sheet of Japanese Masa paper

the definition you get on the scales is wonderful

I have taken a print from each side of the fish

measuring 50x34cm approximately
